Wins and titles for Ferrari in CIGT Endurance
The last race of the Italian GT Endurance Championship season at Monza on Sunday ended with two victories and two titles for Maranello cars. The Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 no. 71 of AF Corse triumphed in the Pro class while its sister car of Easy Race won the Pro Am class.

Pro. An exciting battle went right down to the wire, along the lines of last year when Stefano Gai triumphed in his Ferrari, supported by Antonio Fuoco. It was the latter who replicated his 2019 performance with a cold-blooded display in the last fifteen minutes after a five-second penalty was added to Mattia Drudi’s overall race time. The Audi driver had been leading at that point with a 4.2 advantage over his Ferrari rival. However, Fuoco wasn’t content just to contain the gap to Drudi to within five seconds. Rather, he reduced it with a great final push. Fuoco had inherited the car from Alessio Rovera, also the author of an excellent stint, after a difficult start with Giorgio Roda. The trio finish the season as champions, and with two victories – the other was at Imola – they showed that they deserve the title they claimed.
Pro Am. Victory and title in the Pro Am class went to the 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Easy Race crewed by Sean Hudspeth, Mattia Michelotto and Matteo Greco. They managed the race superbly after a start marked by a vibrant duel with the AF Corse’s Ferrari driven by Matteo Cressoni and Simon Mann. In the second and third hours, thanks to mistakes by the RS Racing car that, with Di Amato, had competed brilliantly in the first hour, the Easy Race crew controlled the pace and the lead over their rivals, finishing in sixth position overall.
Winner’s laurels. The victories and titles won at the Brianza circuit take the extraordinary record of the 488 GT3 to 347 wins and 77 titles out of 627 starts.
Antonello Coletta, Head of Ferrari Attività Sportive GT: “The two titles won today in the Italian GT Championship represent an important result for Ferrari and the teams that have chosen to use the 488 GT3, because they confirm our car’s great competitiveness and versatility, as well as the reliability that is one of the keys to success in Endurance racing. I congratulate the men and drivers of AF Corse and Easy Race on their victories.”
