United States Grand Prix – Practice 1: Seb second, Charles seventh

Austin 1 November 2019 – Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc were second and seventh respectively at the end of the first free practice session for the United States Grand Prix. The second 90 minute session gets underway at 15 local (21 CET.)

Tyre test. At the start of the session, both Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow drivers took to the track on the 2020 test tyres provided to all the teams, but while Sebastian had a trouble free time, Charles had to spend around half an hour in the garage with a throttle pedal problem.

Times. Back on track with the Soft tyres, both drivers then set their personal best times. Vettle did a 1’34”226 which was good enough for second fastest and Charles did a 1’34”126 which was cancelled has he had exceeded the track limits, so that his best time to actually count was a 1’35”380, set on the test tyres. Seb completed a total of 30 laps and Charles did 23.
