The “Società Carrozzai Nonantola” expands with new business partners from Turin.
The “Pianeta Modena”, which is increasingly the center of gravity of the Italian automotive industry, is now beginning to attract similar operators from the Turin area, attracted by the increasingly significant induced (manufacturing) by the great Italian motoring brands; important companies whose names need no introduction: Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ducati.

And in fact one of the historic companies of the “Modena Planet”, the SCN, Società Carrozzai Nonantola, leader in the restoration and carbon painting sector, is now implementing an investment plan of over 3 million, for the three-year period 2021-2024 , which will include, among other things, the hiring of 15 people in 2022 and another 25 between 2023 and 2024, plus the purchase of three new furnaces for painting cars.

Obviously all part of the future development plan of the SCN, the “Società Carrozzai Nonantola”, recently renewed with the entry of three new Turin managers (Giuseppe Migliora, Chief Operation Officer; Roberto Lillo, Chief Marketing Officer; Roberto Gencarelli, Chief Financial Officer) have been active in the automotive sector for many years. The three new Turin partners join two of the old associates: the founder of SCN, Marzio Ascari and Ercole Cantaroni, who remain in the management of the SCN in Nonantola.
Currently made up of thirty-five employees, SCN was founded in 1973 as a traditional body shop, to then extend its business in particular to the restoration of classic cars and, in the last 20 years, also to carbon painting. And it was precisely this uncommon competence that aroused the interest of Turin managers. “We needed – says one of the three Turin managers, the engineer Giuseppe Migliora responsible for industrial development – to find a point of reference close to the major brands of the motor industry, with which we already work, and which in the Motor Valley are of home and we were uncertain whether to do it with a new company or take over an existing business. When we met the SCN we understood that this company would be the optimal solution, by virtue of its skills, developed with intelligence and acumen by the previous owners, in particular by Marzio Ascari and Ercole Cantaroni, precisely for what concerns the carbon painting. , a material widely used in supercars ”.
“In our opinion, there will be two main axes for the development of the automotive industry – continues Migliora – electric and, above all, carbon, which thanks to its peculiarities, especially lightness, allows for better results in terms of consumption and pollution compared to traditional cars “.
The future development of the SCN will focus on this activity. “We have already identified a new warehouse, right here in Nonantola, near the current SCN headquarters, which we will use for the carbon painting of both the bodies and components, a sector in which SCN wants to become a point of reference in terms of national. The two buildings where the company already carries out its business today will instead be renovated and dedicated to the restoration of classic cars and the painting of carbon bodies “.
Expanding new businesses also means new employees. “We have already started the selection to identify new painters, both trained and less experienced, because most of these activities require truly artisanal processes, often not mechanizable”.
Precisely in order not to lose these specific skills, SCN is working on a project for the creation of a school for the restoration of classic cars and carbon painting, to consolidate these skills in the new generations. After all, craftsmanship is one of the strengths of the territory of the Modena Planet. “It is amazing – confirms Migliora – what we can do here. We are really talking about unique processes, which should be made known to the world. And this is what we will try to do too, in our own small way by maintaining the artisan quality alongside a managerial management ”, concludes Migliora.

THE FOUNDING MEMBER of SCN MARZIO ASCARI: “I wish to thank the Turin managers for believing in our business and in the investment it deserved.
A special thanks to the past business associates Claudio Bompani, Ercole Cantaroni, Maurizio Vaccari and all employees.
Finally thanks also to all the customers who have trusted us in these 48 years” and who the SCN remains at your full disposal for any body repair work, as always “.
