New 500 is named “best small electric car” at What Car? 2022 Electric Car Awards for the second consecutive year

New 500 credited for its performance, design and attractive price point according to the magazine What Car?. In just two years, the New 500 has been chosen by more than 100,000 customers and won 33 international awards in nine countries, making it the most awarded FIAT model ever. In the first seven months 2022, New 500 is the most sold EV in Italy and Germany and places itself on the podium in France and Europe.

The fully electric New 500 has retained its best small electric car title at the What Car? 2022 Electric Car Awards. Judges praised the car for its smile-inducing performance, attractive price point and iconic design.

Oliver Francois, FIAT CEO and Stellantis Global CMO, commented: “I would like to thank the prestigious What Car? magazine for this prize. Being awarded for the second year in a row makes us even more proud and acquires even more significance if we consider that the EV market is facing a continuous launch of new models and cutting-edge technologies. Nonetheless, the New 500 has confirmed its success and retained its title.
Today the New 500’s palmarès includes 33 international prizes awarded in nine countries by the public and experts. This success is confirmed by brilliant sales results: in just two years the New 500 has been chosen by over 100,000 customers worldwide; it is the most sold EV in Italy and Germany, and it places itself on the podium in France and in Europe. The spearhead of our electrification strategy, then, the New 500 will soon land in the United States continuing its global journey outside Europe, after reaching the Middle East, Brazil and Japan.”

Steve Huntingford, Editor at What Car? said: “The Fiat 500 quells any notion that a small electric car should look or feel basic. Plus, it’s well priced and no rival is as good at tackling the cut and thrust of city traffic while putting a smile on your face. In short, it perfectly encapsulates what’s needed from a modern urban runaround”.
