Brazilian Grand Prix – Practice 3: Charles third, Seb fourth
Sao Paulo, 16 November 2019 – Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel were third and fourth fastest respectively in the third free practice session, in preparation for this afternoon’s qualifying at 3pm (19 CET.)
Qualifying simulation. Both Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow drivers started off on soft tyres, tackling the usual preparations for this afternoon’s hunt for pole position. The track was rubbering-in fast and Charles began with a 1’09”811, with Seb posting a 1’09”666. The Monegasque got down to a 1’09”599 before pitting to change tyres. On a new Softs, both drivers improved still further, Sebastian to 1’08”664, before Charles did a 1’08”611 to claim third and fourth places.
Race simulation. In the final part of the hour, the focus switched to the race, with shortish long runs on the softest tyres. Wherever he qualifies this afternoon, Leclerc will start from ten places further back, as he has a penalty for changing the internal combustion engine on his SF90.
