Italian Grand Prix – Monza misses (most of) the rain

Seb 3rd and Kimi 4th in an almost dry Free Practice 1
Monza, 1 September–Just days after the Belgian GP in Spa, the engines were fired up again today for the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. The Scuderia Ferrari drivers ended the first free practice session in third and fourth places, courtesy of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen respectively. The German posted a lap in 1”22’652 and the Finn did a 1”22’689. Both of them started the session on the Medium compound tyres before switching to the Supersoft. Rain was forecast, but only a few drops fell and, towards the end of the session, when the track was getting a bit damp, the Ferrari duo practiced starts and did some long runs.
