Italian Grand Prix – “The atmosphere here is great”
Kimi, Seb and the whole Ferrari team to enjoy Monza challenge
Monza, August 31st – Cloudy skies couldn’t dampen the atmosphere at Monza, where Scuderia Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel have today started their preparation for the Italian Grand Prix. The whole team is at work to repay the support of the Tifosi in the best possible way. “It’s our home Grand Prix and it’s great to be here with all our tifosi supporting us,” says Kimi. “As every weekend we’ll try to fight for the win; hopefully we can give them a good result. It’s obviously quite a busy weekend but the atmosphere is great. In the next days the weather conditions are supposed to be a bit tricky; from tomorrow we’ll try to do some proper running to get some idea of where we are. We’ll keep on doing 100%, the best that we can and then see where we end up. I’m very happy to be part of the Ferrari team, we won a Drivers’ championship and two Constructors titles together and it’s been great. We are all here to get Ferrari back to where it belongs”. Seb’s comments reflect his enthusiasm at being able to race in a Ferrari car at Monza: “This is an important GP that the whole team appreciates, so we’re going to enjoy it. Tomorrow we’ll see how many people will be here. Today is only Thursday, but while I was walking around the track, there were many people already. This track for me is special. The feeling is strong here as I got my first Formula One victory here. On paper, it looks like a circuit that suits our competitors better than us, because of its layout. But our performance at Spa has given us hope”.
