Alfa Romeo Tonale was elected ‘Quattroruote New Car of the Year 2023’

With 18% of the preferences of Quattroruote readers, the Italian brand's first electric C-SUV was chosen over a shortlist of 20 new models selected by the editorial staff. With the Tonale, Alfa Romeo redefines the 'Efficient Sportiness' paradigm: electric to use everyday, hybrid for getting way. The first step towards the sportiness of the future according to Alfa Romeo. Since 2000 all new Alfa Romeo models have won this important title.

Alfa Romeo Tonale has won the New Car of the Year 2023 competition, which has been organized by Quattroruote magazine since 2000. With 18% of the preferences, expressed on the Quattroruote.it website, the brand’s first electric C-SUV excelled on a shortlist of 20 new models selected by the authoritative editorial staff of the magazine. For Alfa Romeo, this is a renewed success: in the past, the coveted title was won by the 147 (2001), MiTo (2009), Giulietta (2011), Giulia (2017) and Stelvio (2018).

Alfa Romeo Tonale is the model with which the Brand made its entry into the world of electrification while remaining loyal to its DNA of noble Italian sportiness since 1910. The distinctive Italian design is complemented by cutting-edge technology and top-level connectivity, as demonstrated by the sophisticated infotainment system. For the Tonale, the Brand created unique and exclusive technical solutions to emphasize its DNA and offer the customer an incomparable driving experience, typical of Alfa Romeo, in which meticulous attention to detail combines with a continuous pursuit of the highest quality. Recently, the Brand presented the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4, the highest-performing version of the range which redefines the ‘Efficient Sportiness’ paradigm. In fact, the model is the most efficient Alfa Romeo ever with up to 26g/km of CO2 emissions which allow free access to city centers, over 80 km of battery life in full-electric mode for superior daily mobility, and up to 600 km of total fuel mileage for long distance driving on extra-urban roads. In addition, a total power of 280 hp guarantees Alfa Romeo’s distinctive driving dynamics and sportiness.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that two other Stellantis models also made it onto the podium of the ‘New Car of the Year 2023’ competition: Maserati Grecale and Jeep Avenger, the brand’s first full electric SUV, with 14% and 12% of the votes respectively, proving that the Group’s SUVs are increasingly being appreciated by Italian customers.
