British Grand Prix – Fourth consecutive podium for Charles
Silverstone, 14 July 2019 –Charles Leclerc took his fourth consecutive podium finish, the fifth this season, finishing third in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone circuit.
Great duels. The Monegasque was undoubtedly one of the stars of the afternoon, fighting tooth and nail from start to finish, even after a Safety Car period worked against him and he lost a few places. He had some memorable duels with Max Verstappen before the race was neutralised and produced a marvellous passing move to dispense with Pierre Gasly, while fighting his way back up the order having dropped to sixth.
Sebastian. Sebastian Vettel’s day did not go so well. He made the most of the Safety Car to move up from sixth to third place. But the German made a mistake when trying to fight back, having just been passed by Verstappen, with the Ferrari driving into the back of the Red Bull. Sebastian had to pit and that cost him a lot of time. He was also given a 10 second penalty for the incident, which relegated him to 16thplace on the results sheet. The next round is in Germany in a fortnight’s time.
